Lady Gaga kicked off her Saturday Night Live episode with some jokes about her movie Joker: Folie à Deux.

“Anyway, I’m an actor now,” the Oscar and Grammy winner says during her opening monologue before quipping, “I select films that would showcase my craft as a serious actor, films such as Joker 2. Apparently, people thought it was awesome. Joaquin [Phoenix] and I even got nominated for a Razzie, which is an award for the worst films of the year. So we won worst onscreen duo.”

She continues, “But jokes on them. I love winning things. My Razzie brings me one step closer to an EGORT. It’s like an EGOT, but it’s hurtful.”

Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to 2019’s Oscar-winning Joker, was nominated for seven Razzies after bombing at the box office last year. The movie ultimately won the Razzies for worst screen combo of Phoenix and Gaga and worst sequel.

Lady Gaga later adds, “Tonight, I promise to act, to sing and to not do Joker 3.”

Elsewhere during her monologue, Gaga jokes about returning to SNL more than 10 years after her previous time hosting in 2013. “I know you might be thinking I’m here to promote my album, Mayhem, but I’m actually here to remind you that I’m an amazing actor,” she says.

“The last time I hosted SNL I was 27,” she continues. “I’m 38 now, which is scientifically the best age for a female pop star to be. I see that most pop stars are over 40. Chappell Roan is 58. Charli XCX, she’s 75. Tate McRae is my biological grandmother.”

Gaga then quips about R. Kelly (the disgraced rapper currently in prison on racketeering and sex trafficking charges) making a guest appearance on her last SNL episode.

“I’m so happy to be back at SNL. The last time I hosted was in 2013 and every aspect of my performance aged amazingly,” she says. “So there’s no need to Google SNL 2013, Lady Gaga featuring R. Kelly. I won’t bring it up because that would be bad.”

Gaga pulls double duty as host and musical guest on this week’s episode of SNL. Later in the show, she performs her new songs “Abracadabra” and “Killah.”

Earlier in the show, the cold open pokes fun at the recent Cabinet Meeting clash between Marco Rubio, the U.S. secretary of state, and Elon Musk, the billionaire leading the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), according to The New York Times.

Mike Myers returns to portray Musk as James Austin Johnson’s President Donald Trump attempts to resolve the conflict between Musk and Marcello Hernández’s Rubio.

“I can’t have you do at each other’s throats, OK? Johnson’s Trump says. “After all, I have a perfect record. Everyone who’s ever worked for me has left on good terms and then gone on to write a book called ‘The Man Who Ruined Everything.’ So you two need to start acting like mature adults, OK?”

“I can’t believe this is the guy you’ve given access to the entire government. He’s not an elected official,” Hernández’s Rubio complains about Musk. Myers’ billionaire responds before doing an awkward dance, “I know you are, but what am I?”

As the cold open concludes, Johnson’s Trump says, “So headlines from the meeting: One America’s doing bad guy now. Two, Marco, get your budget under control. And three, Elon, stay in your lane. You’re not the boss.”

“But I paid you $300 million,” Myers’ Musk replies before Johnson’s Trump quickly corrects himself, “And that’s why you’re the boss.”
