Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey are teaming up for a single-camera comedy pilot at NBC — and no, this story is not a reprint from the 2005-06 development season about 30 Rock.
Morgan is set to star in a show from writer Sam Means (30 Rock, Girls5Eva) in which he plays a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image. Fey and Robert Carlock — also a 30 Rock alum — are executive producing.
The project is the first formal pilot order NBC has handed out this season, though it has a handful of other shows in development.
