Kieran Culkin Explains Why His Kids Won’t Watch the ‘Home Alone’ Movies (Exclusive)

Kieran Culkin delivered a must-see moment at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Feb. 23 when he picked up the trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for playing Benji Kaplan in A Real Pain alongside Jesse Eisenberg. (See all the SAG Award winners here.)
While accepting the trophy, Culkin made sure to crack a few jokes, including playfully calling out Adrien Brody by noting the allowed time allowed for speeches.
“Thank you SAG-AFTRA, for this incredibly heavy award,” Culkin joked, referring to a stand featured onstage, “That’s why they put the thing here, I guess, right? I don’t think it’s any way anyone can hold this for 45 seconds, which is the allotted time. Adrian Brody, 45 seconds.”
But Culkin quickly made it clear that his off-the-cuff remark was just that: “There was no reason to take that shot. I love you. It’s a joke. You take your time.”
And the competition was steep, as Culkin beat out Jonathan Bailey (Wicked), Yura Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown) and his former Succession costar Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice).
In his speech, Culkin went on to offer a sweet shoutout to wife of over a decade Jazz Charton, with whom he shares 5-year-old daughter Kinsey and 3-year-old son Wilder.
“My wonderful, gorgeous, funny wife Jazz I love you,” he gushed. “Thank you for giving me my favorite people in the world.”
